WRONG PRINTER CARTRIDGE SENT - WHAT TO DO?

THE OVERNIGHT PRINTER CARTRIDGE YOU ORDERED ARRIVES , BUT IT DOES'NT LOOK RIGHT - AAAHHHHH!

The first thing not to do is panic & reach for the phone to abuse the supplier for sending you the wrong one.
There are a number of factors to consider:

  1. The box can have a code on it that does'nt match what you ordered. Usually this is because it is an international code and is not the OEM code for the brand or the SKU code (supplier's code), but is the right cartridge.
  2. For a compatible the shape is different in shape to the original, because copyright patents mean that the non-genuine cartridge has to be at least 25% different to the original.
  3. When ordering always check the printer model for the cartridge on the web site.
When you open the box, do so carefully so as to be able to repack it should there be a need to return it, but most reputable suppliers actually electronically pick the order, and weigh it before couriering it out.
So the chances of getting the wrong one are really very remote.

For genuine & compatible cartridges from a reputable supplier at best price & overnight delivery, look at ABC Print Supplies for Australia-wide orders,

BEWARE OF FALSELY ADVERTISED PRINTER CARTRIDGES PRICES ON THE INTERNET

A number of cartridge printer suppliers are using  shonky methods to make their cartridges appear cheaper than they are on the internet.

Especially on respectable sites like 'My Shopping ' and 'Get Price'.
To make their price appear the cheapest, and go to the top of the queue, they load the shipping cost to around $15 for say an advertised $18.90 toner cartridge. The shipping cost for them might be actually $7.00, so they cream $8.00 for the difference although they might lose say $2.00 on their acquisition cost for the cartridge, which costs them $20.90 to buy-in, to display it as the cheapest and be first entry on the queue.. so  a very neat margin of 28.7% is achieved .
But it does'nt stop there. When it's in the cart & you have gone to the trouble of entering your details for delivery plus credit card, you then find an additional % charge passed on to you for the cost of the credit card transaction or the 2.5% fee which Paypal charges.
At ABC Printsupplies, you are only charged an extra $8 for delivery, for one or more cartridges.

PRINTER CARTRIDGE DELIVERY COURIERS - BEWARE THE ATL

When you order ink or printer cartridges (or anything else for that matter) via the internet or by telephone, then you might advise that if you are not at the premises at time of delivery, to leave the cartridge(s) in a certain location e.g. under back stairs (known as Authority to Leave, or ATL).
But you should read the terms of suppliers/couriers.
In many cases, unless you begin your authority with 'If no one at premises, then....', the courier will place the order in your requested location without knocking or entering reception first.
We see customers who have not left the premises wondering why delivery has net been made, forgetting they placed an ATL, or assuming the courier would contact you on arrival.
And as for wanting the courier to deliver between X and Y hours, forget it, they don't have the time to personalise delivery.
Note:   This blog is applicable to Australian courier proceedures.

CAN YOU TRUST WEB SITES FOR PRINTER CARTRIDGE PURCHASES?

Ordering your Printer Cartridge on the Internet

My own business often gets 'phone enquiries from other businesses/individuals  asking about security concerns of placing an order for their Ink/Toner printer cartridges.
The concern for customers is:  (a) making their credit card details available to the web site, and
                                              (b) never seeing the products they have ordered.
To help allay your fears, there are some factors that you can take into account. If the web page offers a telephone number, then that in itself is a way of saying that that supplier is reputable.
The next thing to look for is the layout of a website and the access from one page to others, particularly product pages. There is a great deal of cost in setting up a web page, which is beyond the means of a shonky operator. So if a web site offers flexability then it will be OK.
Finally, there is TLS/SSL security in the form of Cryptographic Protocols that prevents eavesdropping and tampering so that your credit card details or PayPal details remain confidential. The credit card details are not even available to the webpage operator, which in fact makes it more secure than giving your credit card details on the 'phone.
But if you still have a concern, then for peace of mind.....'phone.
